Advertisements - This is probably what most people think of when they think about monetizing a website—by placing ads next to your content, you can generate revenue based on ad impressions, clicks, cost per click (CPC), etc. These days Google is by far the biggest player in online advertising; so if you want ads on your site, it's usually easiest to go with AdSense. However, there are other networks out there like Mediavine and Commission Junction that specialize in specific types of advertising like pay-per-call or e-commerce offers that may interest you more than general banner ads.
2. Affiliate Marketing - Affiliate marketing involves promoting someone else’s products or services in exchange for a commission. You don’t have to own a business to be an affiliate marketer either: If you have a big enough following, companies will pay you just for sending them traffic. Affiliate marketing has become one of my main sources of income because I was able to build up my traffic just by creating great content that led people back to one product: Wealthy Affiliate premium membership. (And eventually even brought them over to training sites I owned as well.)

Most popular blogs have their own Facebook and Twitter followings; consider adding them to your social media routine. If a particular blogger seems interesting, Google his or her name with words like best of, top 5/10/15, or bookmark list. You might find other bloggers posting about their favorite finds. In addition to readers, many bloggers also have an email newsletter. Sign up if it doesn’t cost anything.
