Bethany found the pregnancy test The truth is finally out, and nobody saw this coming

Bethany Found the Pregnancy Test — The Truth Is Finally Out

The house had never felt so quiet.

It was late in the evening, and everyone seemed to have disappeared into their own corners. Larry was in his office, Charlotte was downstairs finishing some work, and Bethany was walking through the hallway when she suddenly noticed something unusual.

The bathroom door was slightly open.

Bethany wasn't looking for anything.

She had only gone upstairs to grab a file she had accidentally left in the guest room. But as she passed the bathroom, something on the counter caught her attention.

A small white box.

Bethany stopped.

She took two steps backward.

Her eyes narrowed.

Then she slowly walked toward the bathroom.

At first, she thought it was just a normal medical test.

But when she saw the words printed on the box, her entire expression changed.

Pregnancy Test.

Bethany froze.

For several seconds, she simply stared at it.

"Wait..." she whispered.

Her heart began beating faster.

She looked around the hallway.

Nobody was there.

Bethany picked up the box carefully.

It was already opened.

That was when she noticed something else.

There was a used pregnancy test lying inside the bathroom trash bin.

Bethany's face went pale.

Someone had taken the test.

And judging by the way it had been hidden, someone clearly didn't want anybody to know.

Bethany slowly pulled the test from the trash.

She looked at it.

Two lines.

Positive.

Her mouth fell open.

"No way..."

She checked it again.

Two lines.

There was no mistake.

Bethany immediately began thinking about everyone in the house.

Charlotte?

No.

That didn't make sense.

Then her thoughts shifted.

Her expression became serious.

"Larry..."

She stopped herself.

Why would Larry be involved?

And then another possibility entered her mind.

Someone had been keeping a massive secret.

A secret that could change the entire family.

Bethany put the test back exactly where she had found it.

But she couldn't walk away.

Her instincts told her something was wrong.

Very wrong.

She stood in the hallway, staring at the bathroom door.

"Who is pregnant?"

That question wouldn't leave her mind.

THE NEXT MORNING

Bethany barely slept.

She spent the entire night thinking about the pregnancy test.

By morning, she had convinced herself that there had to be an explanation.

Maybe the test belonged to someone who had visited the house.

Maybe someone had thrown it away by mistake.

Maybe it wasn't even from their family.

But deep down, Bethany knew better.

The test had been hidden.

And whoever had taken it didn't want anyone to discover it.

At breakfast, Bethany carefully watched everyone.

Charlotte walked into the kitchen first.

"Good morning."

Bethany looked at her.

"Morning."

Charlotte immediately noticed Bethany's strange expression.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

"You don't look fine."

Bethany forced a smile.

"I didn't sleep well."

Charlotte sat down.

Larry entered a few moments later.

"What's going on?"

"Nothing," Bethany replied.

But she couldn't stop watching him.

Larry noticed.

"What?"

"Nothing."

"Bethany, you've been staring at me for thirty seconds."

She looked away.

"I'm just tired."

Larry shrugged and started preparing his coffee.

Bethany's mind was racing.

She wanted to ask the question.

But she wasn't ready.

Not yet.

Then Charlotte suddenly received a phone notification.

She looked at her phone.

Her smile disappeared.

Bethany noticed.

"Everything okay?"

Charlotte quickly locked her screen.

"Yeah."

"Who was that?"

"Nobody."

Bethany stared at her.

"Nobody?"

"Just a message."

Charlotte stood up.

"I need to make a call."

She walked out of the kitchen.

Bethany watched her leave.

Something wasn't right.

THE PHONE CALL

Charlotte stepped outside.

She looked around before answering the call.

"Hello?"

A nervous voice came from the other end.

"Did Bethany find it?"

Charlotte's eyes widened.

"What?"

"The test."

Charlotte immediately lowered her voice.

"How did you know about that?"

"Because I know what happened."

Charlotte's face became tense.

"Nobody was supposed to know."

"I know."

"Then why are you calling me?"

There was silence.

Finally, the person on the phone said:

"Because the truth can't stay hidden forever."

Charlotte closed her eyes.

"Please don't do this."

"I'm not the one who started this."

The call ended.

Charlotte stared at her phone.

She knew everything was about to fall apart.

BETHANY CONNECTS THE PIECES

Back inside, Bethany was going through some paperwork when she noticed something strange.

A medical appointment card had been left inside a folder.

She picked it up.

The date was recent.

The name had been partially covered.

Bethany turned the card over.

Her eyes widened.

It was the same medical clinic printed on the pregnancy-test packaging.

Her suspicion became certainty.

Someone in the family was pregnant.

And they had been visiting a doctor in secret.

Bethany stood up.

She couldn't take it anymore.

She walked toward Charlotte's room.

The door was slightly open.

"Charlotte?"

No answer.

Bethany entered.

On the desk was Charlotte's handbag.

Bethany didn't want to invade her privacy.

But then she saw something sticking out of the bag.

A medical envelope.

Bethany pulled it out.

Before she could open it, Charlotte appeared in the doorway.

"What are you doing?"

Bethany turned around.

Silence filled the room.

"I found the pregnancy test."

Charlotte's face went completely white.

Bethany stared at her.

"So it's yours?"

Charlotte didn't answer.

"Charlotte?"

Still nothing.

Bethany stepped closer.

"Are you pregnant?"

Charlotte finally lowered her head.

"I didn't know how to tell you."

Bethany's eyes filled with shock.

"How long?"

Charlotte wiped away a tear.

"Not long."

"Does Larry know?"

Charlotte immediately looked terrified.

"No."

That single word changed everything.

Bethany's voice became quieter.

"Why doesn't Larry know?"

Charlotte shook her head.

"Because it's complicated."

"What's complicated about being pregnant?"

Charlotte looked toward the door.

"Because this isn't the only secret."

Bethany froze.

"What do you mean?"

Charlotte took a deep breath.

"The baby..."

She couldn't finish the sentence.

Bethany stared at her.

"The baby isn't Larry's, is it?"

Charlotte's silence was the answer.

Bethany stepped backward.

"Oh my God."

THE SECRET FATHER

Bethany sat down.

She couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"Who is the father?"

Charlotte started crying.

"I can't tell you."

"You have to."

"I can't."

"Charlotte, Larry deserves to know."

"I know!"

Charlotte's voice cracked.

"But if he finds out, everything will be destroyed."

Bethany stood up.

"Everything is already being destroyed because you're hiding the truth."

Charlotte covered her face.

"I was scared."

"Scared of what?"

"Of losing everyone."

Bethany's anger softened slightly.

She could see that Charlotte wasn't trying to hurt anyone.

She was terrified.

Then Bethany heard footsteps in the hallway.

Both women froze.

Larry's voice came from outside.

"Charlotte?"

Charlotte's eyes widened.

"He's here."

Bethany whispered:

"What are we going to do?"

Charlotte shook her head.

"I don't know."

The door opened.

Larry stood there.

He looked at Bethany.

Then Charlotte.

Then the medical envelope on the desk.

His expression changed.

"What is that?"

Neither woman answered.

Larry walked closer.

"Why are you both acting like something happened?"

Bethany looked at Charlotte.

Charlotte looked down.

Larry picked up the envelope.

He opened it.

His eyes moved across the page.

Then he stopped.

His face went blank.

"Pregnancy?"

Charlotte began crying.

Larry looked at her.

"You're pregnant?"

Charlotte nodded.

Larry's voice trembled.

"Is it mine?"

Silence.

That silence destroyed everything.

Larry slowly lowered the paper.

"No..."

Bethany stepped forward.

"Larry—"

He raised his hand.

"Don't."

His eyes remained fixed on Charlotte.

"Tell me."

Charlotte couldn't speak.

Larry's voice became louder.

"WHO IS THE FATHER?"

Charlotte finally looked up.

And just before she could answer, the front door suddenly opened.

Everyone turned.

A man stood there.

Larry recognized him immediately.

His expression changed from confusion to disbelief.

"You?"

The man looked at Charlotte.

Then at Larry.

Then at Bethany.

Nobody spoke.

Bethany realized something terrifying.

She knew this man.

And she suddenly understood why Charlotte had been so afraid.

Larry stepped forward.

"You knew?"

Bethany looked at him.

"I just found out."

Larry pointed toward Charlotte.

"She knew."

Charlotte began crying.

The mysterious man finally spoke.

"I came here to tell the truth."

Larry laughed bitterly.

"You're a little late."

The man took a breath.

"The baby is mine."

The room went silent.

Bethany's eyes widened.

Charlotte covered her face.

Larry stared at the man as if he couldn't believe what he was hearing.

Then, unexpectedly, Larry smiled.

But it wasn't a happy smile.

It was the kind of smile someone gives when they've finally understood everything.

"So that's why."

Bethany looked at him.

"Why what?"

Larry turned toward her.

"Now you understand why I've been suspicious for months."

Bethany's heart sank.

"What are you talking about?"

Larry pulled a second envelope from his jacket.

"I already knew something was happening."

He placed it on the table.

Bethany opened it.

Inside was a collection of photographs, messages, and documents.

Charlotte's secret meetings.

The medical appointments.

The phone calls.

Everything.

Bethany looked at Larry in disbelief.

"You knew?"

Larry nodded.

"But I didn't know about the pregnancy."

He looked at Charlotte.

"That part is new."

Charlotte sobbed.

"I was going to tell you."

Larry shook his head.

"When?"

Charlotte couldn't answer.

Bethany looked around the room.

A pregnancy test had started all of this.

One tiny object had uncovered months of secrets.

But there was still one question nobody had answered.

What would happen next?

Larry picked up the pregnancy test from the table.

He stared at it for a moment.

Then he looked at everyone.

"The truth is finally out."

His voice was calm.

"But the truth has consequences."

Nobody moved.

Nobody spoke.

And then the mysterious man said something that made everyone freeze.

"There's one more thing you don't know."

Bethany turned toward him.

"What?"

He looked directly at Larry.

"The pregnancy isn't the only secret."

Larry's expression hardened.

"What else?"

The man hesitated.

Then he pulled another document from his pocket.

Bethany's heart began pounding.

Charlotte whispered:

"Please..."

But it was too late.

The envelope was already being opened.

And whatever was inside was about to change the entire family forever.
